Huge sinkhole swallows parts of buildings in Germany
A huge sinkhole emerged in Germany on Friday, swallowing parts of buildings.
A crater up to 50 metres deep was created, and the hole in the city of Nordhausen in central Germany was filled with water.
Parts of two unoccupied buildings were torn into the hole.
The area was spaciously protected for security reasons but no one was injured.
The causes are still uncertain.
