Filming on new Top Gear hits brakes after car breaks down during London-Blackpool challenge
New Top Gear hosts Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans suffered a hitch when their car broke down during filming for the first episode of the new series of the show.
LeBlanc and Evans were driving Reliant Robins, clad in stars-and-stripes and Union flag paintwork, on a 230-mile challenge from London to Blackpool when they suffered the setback.
The Top Gear team were spotted with the vehicles in a car park in Cannock, Staffordshire on Friday evening.
Fans seized on the moment to grab a selfie with the pair.
Among them were sisters 16-year-old Megan and Macy, aged 12, who both got a picture with LeBlanc.
Their mother Claire Raddie thanked the star on Twitter, saying: "Sorry for the breakdown but you've made my two daughters very happy in Cannock!"She added: "Totally unexpected but thank you so much."
The Top Gear team were later pictured filming time trials for the new series along the promenade in Blackpool.
