Bilic hails West Ham's FA Cup win over Liverpool as 'one of greatest nights in club's history'

West Ham's dramatic FA Cup win over Liverpool will go down as one of the club's greatest ever games, says Slaven Bilic.

Angelo Ogbonna scored with a header in the last minute of extra time to secure a 2-1 victory and send the east London club into the fifth round where Championship strugglers Blackburn Rovers await.

"I think it will go down as one of the greatest games and greatest nights in the history of this club," Bilic said.

The Croatian previously said he would rather win the FA Cup than finish in the top-four and he signalled his intention by picking a strong team.

The Hammers took the lead on the brink of half-time when Michail Antonio superbly converted Enner Valencia's cross.

Liverpool hit back immediately after the restart with Philippe Coutinho's low free-kick.

As penalties looked all but certain, Ogbonna, a summer recruit from Juventus, met Dimitri Payet's cross at the back post to earn West Ham their first ever FA Cup win over Liverpool.

The Hammers are, of course, leaving Upton Park at the end of the season but the famous old ground crackled with an atmosphere it will surely be impossible to recreate at the Olympic Stadium.
