Dog IQ test could lead to breakthrough in understanding dementia, scientists say
A IQ test for dogs has been developed by scientists who believe it could lead to breakthroughs in our understanding of the link between intelligence and health.
Experts say that that canine intelligence works in a similar way to humans, so bright dogs who perform well in one task also do well in others - just like their masters.
Some studies show that people with a higher IQ live longer, so scientists believe that if they can prove the same is true in dogs they can use them to study long-term health problems in humans, like dementia.
