X Factor winner Ben Haenow splits with Simon Cowell's record label Syco

Ben Haenow, the former X Factor winner, has parted company with Simon Cowell's record label Syco.

Haenow triumphed on the ITV talent show in 2014, beating Fleur East to the crown.

His winner's single became Christmas number one but his debut album did not see the same success.

The 31-year-old posted a link to a statement on Twitter in which he says that, after discussions with the Syco team, they "both felt it was the right time to move on".

Haenow said he is already writing and in talks about his next album.

It is the not the first time a winner of the X Factor has parted company with the music mogul's label shortly after their win.
