The cast of Cold Feet have been reunited as work on a new series of the BAFTA winning comedy drama got underway.

Picking up 13 years after the last episode left off the new eight-part series is set to air later this year and will give viewers a chance to catch up with characters Adam, Pete, Jenny, Karen and David and see what has happened in their lives in the intervening years.

The original cast - James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John Thomson, and Fay Ripley - have all signed up for the new series with only Helen Baxendale missing from the original line-up as her character Rachel was killed off in the last series.

Nesbitt said he couldn't wait to reprise his role as Adam.

Co-star Ripley said reprising the role of Jenny would be like "bumping into an old friend".

The comedy drama will pick up its sixth series with creator Mike Bullen once again at the helm as unanswered questions such as how Adam has coped raising his son on his own without his soulmate, Rachel? and have David and Karen stayed together or split? are finally answered.

Filming for the new series is due to start in Manchester in February but the cast met up for an initial read through of their lines and the first reprisal of their famous characters in more than a decade on Tuesday.
