Amy Schumer accepts apology from teen critic after sexist tweet
Hollywood comedian Amy Schumer has accepted an apology from a teenage critic after she called him out for making a sexist comment about her on Twitter.
17-year-old Jackon Murphy, known as critic Lights Camera Jackson, shared a selfie of him with the star at the Critics' Choice Awards on Monday with the comment: "Spent the night with @amyschumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that."
The Trainwreck star angrily responded to Murphy, writing: "I get it. Cause I'm a w****? Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad."
Schumer, posed with the young critic while on the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Awards where she won Best Actress in a Comedy for Trainwreck which she wrote with her sister Kim Caramele.
Hours after Jackson, the youngest member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, attracted the wrath of Schumer and her fans he apologised admitting it "wasn't funny".
He added: "I truly apologise. Thought you'd like the joke. I should leave the comedy to you! Thanks for the photo. Glad you won last night!"
Schumer graciously tweeted back: "That's really okay honey."
Schumer attended the Santa Monica ceremony with her new boyfriend Ben Hanisch who posted two pictures of them on Instagram, writing: "This girl looked insanely gorgeous and I'm in love with her."
