David Bowie's final album Blackstar shoots to top of charts
David Bowie's final album Blackstar has shot straight to the top of the UK charts.
The music legend died on Sunday aged 69 following an 18-month battle with liver cancer.
Blackstar has been described as Bowie's "parting gift" to his fans - but figures show it was on course to reach the Number One spot even before his death.
Mourning fans also helped ensure nine of Bowie's other albums made it back into the Top 40.
These included:
5 - Nothing Has Changed - The Very Best Of
11 - The Best Of 1969/1974
14 - Hunky Dory
17- The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust
18 - Best Of Bowie
23 - Aladdin Sane
25 - The Next Day
31 - Low
37 - Diamond Dogs
Blackstar could also score Bowie his first Number One album in the US Billboard chart.
