Winter bites back this this week

We expect to see a marked change to colder weather across all parts of the UK next week as a north or northwesterly airflow pushes cold air across the country.

For some, mainly England and Wales, this will be first cold spell of the current season with the chance of frost, ice and, for some, the possibility of sleet, snow and hail.

The coldest part of the week will be Tuesday night where we could see -10C across northern Scotland.

Snow is most likely across Norther England, Northern Ireland and Scotland but later in the week we could see a few flurries further south as the cold air makes its way across the UK.

Around 5cm possible across S Wales hills and mountains but a couple of cm possible across the Moors of SW England / Cotswolds.
