Runaway reindeer roams streets after making a dash from Christmas event

A reindeer spooked by a car horn made a dash from a Christmas event to roam the streets of Nottingham.

The animal, called Bjorn, sprinted from a car park at a Tesco supermarket in Carlton Hill on Sunday.

Warren Porter, 23, from Sherwood captured a photo of Bjorn in full flight on a pavement. He said at first he mistook the reindeer for a "massive dog".

Bjorn was later found in a nearby garden and returned to safety.

Event organisers The Animal Company said the reindeer escaped after slipping its rope, but was later tempted back into their truck.
