The Force is strong in this Star Wars: The Force Awakens wedding

The Force is truly strong with one Australian couple after they tied the knot whilst queuing for the first US showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Caroline Ritter and Andrew Porters flew to Los Angeles from Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia, to camp outside the TCL Chinese Theatre until the sci-fi blockbuster went on general release.

The pair were accompanied by friends and fellow movie buffs dressed as characters from the Star Wars universe including Darth Vader, Chewbacca and Imperial Stormtroopers.

Caroline's white wedding dress was adorned with crystal x-wing starfighers, and Andrew's black suit was embellished with a Stormtrooper-themed bow tie and braces.

The Star Wars wedding was "the theater's idea," she told Mashable earlier this week. "They asked if anyone was interested in getting married here on the premiere date."

Entertainment Week reports that the rural firefighter groom had never even seen a Star Wars film until he met his wife-to-be.

Caroline said:

The newlyweds will reportedly spend their honeymoon in France and the UK next summer - stopping off, of course, for a Star Wars convention.
