What a catch! Flooded Carlisle United find three koi carp in goalmouth during clean-up
Carlisle United's ground staff have found three koi carp in the goalmouth during a clean-up after the devastating floods of Brunton Park and the surrounding area.
Most of the pitch was underwater following the extreme weather and ground staff came across the three fish in the Waterworks End goalmouth.
Carlisle famously found a goldfish swimming on the pitch after the ground was flooded in 2005 and named it Billy.
Billy turned out to be Judy, a female fish that was washed out of a tank in a property across the road from Brunton Park while the home was under five foot of water.
Billy lived on for five more years as a club mascot so rest assured that these koi carp will be well looked after.
Local man Mark Chandler later spotted the fish on social media and made the trip to Brunton Park to collect them and return the fish to their rightful home.
