Eddie Redmayne says he 'can't imagine' winning another Oscar for The Danish Girl

Eddie Redmayne's performance as the first man to ever undergo gender-reassignment and become a woman in The Danish Girl is already generating Oscar buzz.

However, the actor, who won Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking at the last Oscars, says he "can't imagine that ever happening again".

Redmayne plays transgender artist Lili Elbe in the new film, which is released on January 1.

He told ITV News there was still a "huge amount of discrimination and violence towards trans people" and that he was shocked by how little progress there has been in the past 100 years.
