Irish singer Sinead O'Connor 'safe' after apparent suicide bid
Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has been found "safe and sound" after she posted what appeared to be a suicide note on Facebook.
Entertainment site TMZ reported the singer had been found.
On Sunday O'Connor posted on Facebook that she had "taken an overdose".
"There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I'm at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name," the 48-year-old wrote.
Earlier this year the singer underwent a hysterectomy, an operation she appeared to refer to in her Facebook post where she detailed an emotional battle "since I had my surgery".
In her message she wrote: "There is only so much any woman can be expected to bear."
A representative for the pop star was reported as saying O'Conner was "unwell and receiving treatment".
