Young boy struck by hiccups while singing national anthem at baseball game

A young boy was struck by a bout of hiccups as he sung the Australian national anthem before a baseball game.

Ethan Hall had just begun singing "Advance Australia Fair" when he began hiccuping, much to the amusement of the teams and fans at the ground.

Despite the unfortunate impairment, Ethan battled through the entire song, receiving a huge ovation from the crowd and high fives from players as he walked off the pitch.

He was performing before the Adelaide Bite's Australian Baseball League meeting with the Brisbane Bandits on Friday.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Ethan said he had to go on so that the game could start.

Ethan's mother Kylie said her son had suffered from the hiccups the day before and that they came back just before he was due to go out on to the pitch.

Kylie told GMB: "About two minutes before he was due to go on he said 'Oh no mum my hiccups are back' and I said you just need to do the best you can darling and you just get out there and keep on going."
