Mackie's advertises 'sweetest job in the world'

A chocolate company is advertising "the sweetest job in the world" as it seeks a new chief taster for its new factory.

Mackie's is advertising the year-long position, which will be paid in monthly supplies of chocolate, and say the only qualifications needed are tastebuds.

To mark the opening of their new £600,000 factory in Aberdeenshire next year, the company hope to create a new flavour combination with input from the new chief chocolate taster.

The successful applicant will have "a steady supply of chocolate to taste, test, lick and sook on the couch at home", Mackie's said.

Kirstin McNutt, head of development, said: "This isn't a Chinese Wispa, we really are recruiting a chief chocolate taster for twelve months."

Other roles available include positions on tasting panels, ensuring quality control and trying other chocolate brands.

Chocolate-lovers have until 3rd December to apply for the role.

The position is open to people of all ages can apply who will need to describe their dream chocolate flavour. The top four ideas will be tested by Mackie's and put to a public vote via social media.
