Adele's album 25 'will not be on streaming services'
Adele's much anticipated third album 25 will not be available on streaming services such as spotify when it is released today.
The singer is following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift, who pulled her music from Spotify late in 2014 and made a stand against Apple over complaints about the royalties paid by streaming outlets.
Beyoncé also withheld her last album from streaming for nearly a year after releasing it in late 2013.
Only a handful of stars are seen as having enough leverage to be able to withhold their music from streaming services.
Adele is said to have been personally involved with the decision.
The album is not expected to stream on Apple Music.
Hello, the lead single off of 25, debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Over the course of a week, the song was downloaded 1.1m times
Last week she tweeted "one week to go" with a video of CDs flying off the conveyor belt.
