ITV News Correspondent Emma Murphy has spent the day in Paris talking to survivors of the hostage taking at the Bataclan concert hall.

From survivors still on this street this morning, she heard graphic descriptions of people hiding upstairs as the attack went on on the floor beneath them.

Denis Plaud described having to wait in silence for three hours, hearing the machine gunfire and feeling the walls shaking.

As police stormed the building, those trapped inside were rushed out to safety. Emergency crews told them not to look at the devastation, but Denis said it was difficult to avoid the carnage.

One woman told ITV News she was right by the gunmen as they opened fire.

She said those carrying out the attack weren't in a hurry. She managed to escape, but scores of others were not so fortunate.
