An e-fit has been released of a man who attempted to kidnap a 14-year-old boy as he walked to school in south-west London.

Detectives said the man, who is described as white and aged between 30 and 40 years, tried to grab the boy having threatened him after he refused to get into his car.

The boy managed to push the man away and run off.

The attempted kidnapping occurred as the boy walked along Fitzneal Street in Fulham at around 7.45am on November 4.

Detective Constable Guy Hookway from Hammersmith and Fulham CID, said: "After the boy ran off the suspect chased him. He managed to hide in a nearby garden where he called his mum who immediately contacted police on 999."

Officers took the boy on a drive around of the area to see if he could spot the man or the car, which he said was silver-coloured and similar to a Vauxhall Astra, while house-to-house enquiries have also been conducted.

Police said the wanted man is around 5ft 11" tall and of slim build with short, black spiky hair.

He was described as wearing a black bomber jacket, dark blue jeans and white trainers.
