JCB warns of job losses after 'rapid deterioration' in world markets
JCB has warned of up to 290 job losses amid a "rapid deterioration" in world construction equipment markets.
The jobs which are believed to be at risk are shop floor roles in the firm's 11 plants across the UK.
It follows an earlier announcement in September that a possible 400 staff job cuts could be on the way.
Graeme Macdonald, JCB's chief executive, said the cuts were due to the fact the construction equipment industry is facing "very tough trading conditions".
