Britain's most badly injured surviving soldier can wear army uniform after getting new prosthetic legs
Britain's most badly injured surviving soldier has been able to wear the full length army uniform after getting new full-size prosthetic legs.
ITV News Correspondent Paul Davies reports:
Former paratrooper Ben Parkinson, 30, was wounded when the vehicle in which he was travelling hit a mine in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, in 2006.
Ben suffered the loss of both of his legs, severe brain injuries and a broken spine in the blast.
He was left in a coma for four months during which surgeons removed both his legs above the knees.
Ben has learned to walk again using prosthetic legs and carried the Olympic Torch in June 2012.
But he has now been restored to his full height with a pair of X3 Geniums prosthetic, which are taller than the ones he had previously and have "intelligent technology".
Remembrance Sunday is an important date in Ben's calendar and this Sunday he can wear his full-length uniform again.
