Is the fog set to continue throughout the week?

Much like Saturday night we had light winds and very moist air near ground level, especially across central, southern and southeastern England.

However, last night the fog developed more widely affecting numerous airports and many people’s commutes.

Lots of places had visibility of less than 100 metres, and a yellow severe weather warning was in force from the Met Office to highlight this.

It looks as though we’ll see similar conditions tonight with fog and low cloud reforming once again.

However, a change in the wind direction during Tuesday night will usher in more unsettled weather with stronger winds and outbreaks of rain.

This will mean that fog is less likely but it will stay mild.
