'They're all over the plaice' - fish lorry spills its load in Scotland
A lorry shed its load of dead fish on a road in Scotland this afternoon, prompting a flurry of jokes on Twitter.
The incident happened in Renfrewshire on the A737 near the village of Kilbarchan, Traffic Scotland said on Twitter.
The outside lane was closed and some motorists who got stuck in the tailback captured images of the eerie sight as they waited for the shoal to be cleared.
A ScotlandTranServ spokeswoman told STV News that the fish belonged to Billy Bowie Special Projects Limited, based in Kilmarnock.
