Jennifer Lawrence: I've been too 'likeable' over issue of equal pay
Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about why her male co-stars get paid more than her in an angry rant on social media.
The Oscar-winning star, 25 said the Sony hack revealed how much less she was being paid than her American Hustle co-stars Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Christian Bale.
The Hunger Games actress said she is "over trying to find the 'adorable' way to state my opinion and still be likable".
She added that she understands her problems "aren't exactly relatable" as she didn't want to "keep fighting over millions of dollars that, frankly, due to two franchises, I don’t need".
However, she said she had failed to tackle the issue of equal pay out of fear of being labelled "difficult" or "spoiled".
She added that she has sometimes been too focused on being nice when trying to negotiate her pay and she was "mad at herself".
In one hacked Sony email, actress and director Angelina Jolie was referred to as a "spoiled brat".
Lawrence ended her post by saying that, after her experience, she wasn't surprised.
"For some reason, I just can't picture someone saying that about a man."
