Russian incursions into Turkish airspace 'dangerous'

Incursions by Russian jets into Turkish airspace have prompted a stern response from Nato's most powerful ally.

Turkey scrambled two F-16 jets on Saturday when a Russian warplane crossed into its airspace at around noon local time.

According to the Turkish military there was a second incident when a fighter jet "harrassed" two patrol planes on Sunday.

Turkey has threatened to "respond" if provoked again by Russia's aerial campaign.

Sir Jeremy Greenstock, former British UN Ambassador, told ITV News that Nato "takes these things quite seriously."
