Chris Moyles returns to radio with Bittersweet Symphony parody advert

Chris Moyles returns to the airwaves today after making a Bittersweet Symphony parody advert to launch Radio X.

The rebranded radio station, which is replacing XFM, has rolled out a TV advert as part of its campaign to pull in listeners.

The advert recreates the 1997 hit music video Bittersweet Symphony and follows a grumpy looking Moyles on his journey to work at the Radio X studios for the first time.

In the original music video The Verve's lead singer Richard Ashcroft pushes past people as he walks through a busy street.

Radio X has been tweeting about Moyles' return this morning, including posting a short video of the DJ's first broadcast for the show.

Moyles recently told The Sun that he does not know how big the new show will but he wants to increase the numbers of listeners.

The television ad will be broadcast on ITV, ITV Digital, Channel 4 Digital and Sky channels during the Rugby World Cup which starts on the 26 September.

It has been three years since Chris Moyles left his slot on Radio 1 and was replaced by Nick Grimshaw.
