England have what it takes to reach the 2015 Rugby World Cup final, former coach Sir Clive Woodward - who helped lead the side to victory in the 2003 tournament - told ITV News.

And what's more, he added, they stand a solid chance of repeating their victory of 12 years ago and take home the Webb Ellis Cup.

The English side of 2003 were much more experienced, and were ranked at number one in the world at the time, he said - but the current squad had come in almost "under the radar".

The win against Ireland at Twickenham in a warm-up match two weeks ago had convinced him they have what it takes, he added.

In an interview with ITV News sports correspondent Ian Payne, Sir Clive said:

Sir Clive, who coached England from 1997 to 2004, also told ITV News that if England do reach the final and face current defending champions New Zealand - who are currently the favourites in the contest - England were a shoo-in to walk away victorious.
