Mass brawl breaks out in Japanese parliament during vote to end pacifism

Scuffles broke out in the Japanese parliament during discussions on bills that could end 70 years of pacifism by the country.

Politicians threw punches and shoved one another as voting took place on the new security package.

The bills would allow Japanese troops to fight abroad for the first time since World War Two.

Despite strong public protests, an upper house panel approved the bills after the chaotic session.
