Ched Evans' panel delay latest rape appeal decision
A panel assessing Ched Evan's latest attempt to have his rape conviction overturned have said they need more time.
Three commissioners from the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) met on Tuesday to discuss the former footballer's case.
But they said further investigation is needed before they can decide if it should be sent back to the Court of Appeal.
Evans, who used to play for Wales and Sheffield United, had an earlier appeal rejected.
He was jailed for five years after being found guilty of raping a 19-year-old woman in 2011.
The footballer, who has always maintained his innocence, was released in October 2014 after serving half his sentence.
He has made several attempts to restart his career but potential moves to Oldham Athletic and his former club Sheffield United collapsed after public outcry.
No date has been fixed for the next CCRC meeting.
