Anne Robinson to leave Watchdog after 15 years
Anne Robinson is to bow out of Watchdog after nearly 15 years years.
The 70-year-old telly star, who has proved a ratings hit with BBC One's Britain's Spending Secrets, is to front a major new series for the channel.
She is also well-known for presenting quiz show The Weakest Link coining the catchphrase "You are The Weakest Link, goodbye."
Robinson said of Watchdog: "It's been an honour to be part of the most important consumer show in Britain."
Watchdog will return with a new series this autumn and hosts Matt Allwright and Chris Hollins will be joined by a new line-up of presenters to be announced soon.
Charlotte Moore, controller of BBC One, said: "Annie is a much-treasured part of the BBC One family and I'm grateful for everything she has done on Watchdog for nearly 15 years.
"I'm looking forward to her returning to the channel with a new factual series next year."
