Gary Barlow surprises bride with wedding day serenade

Gary Barlow has given another bride a wedding day to remember after serenading her on the big day.

The surprise guest was kept secret from Katie Hardy and her new husband, Stephen Hardy, who wed on Saturday.

Their reception was taking place at the Three Nuns pub in Loughborough, Leicestershire, when the Take That singer walked on to the dance floor belting out 2006 hit Rule The World.

Mrs Hardy, a lifelong Take That fan who has the names of the original band members tattooed on her arm, said: "I just couldn't believe it.

"It was just the icing on the cake - I was speechless."

The 33-year-old bride's friends and other die-hard fans put the couple's names forward after Barlow launched a Twitter competition in January, getting more than nine million tweets to the star.

She added: "He follows me on Twitter, so he's obviously read the last few tweets I've posted.

"I've had a slipped disc, so I've been in bed and so he asked me about that.

"He was very thoughtful and caring, and said 'How's your back?' and 'Are you OK?"'

The couple, who have three children - Kymberlee, Ben and Jessica - said Barlow arrived without fuss and no security, just his personal assistant and driver.

Mr Hardy, 43, said: "It was amazing. It made the day even more perfect than it had already been."
