Premier League referee Michael Oliver stepped into the breach when an official was injured during a women's Intercontinental Cup match.

Oliver, 30, was in the stands at Arsenal v Reading at Boreham Wood on Thursday night, watching his wife, Lucy, referee the match.

When one of the assistants was unable to run the line in the second-half, a call went out over the public address system asking if there was a qualified official in the stands, with Oliver answer the call.

Oliver had officiated the game between Arsenal and Liverpool on Monday night at the Emirates, but was more than happy to lend a helping hand with the flag at Boreham Wood.

Fans chanted "there's only one Michael Oliver" at the newly inserted linesman.

It wasn't too tough a task for Oliver, as the game finished 2-1.
