What we know about the Virginia shooting victims
Television journalist Alison Parker, 24
Alison grew up in Martinsville and attended Patrick Henry Community College
She graduated from James Madison University in 2012
She joined WDBJ as a morning reporter in 2014 after interning at the station while she was at university
She formerly worked at WCTI News Channel 12 in the Jacksonville, North Carolina bureau, near Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune
Alison had just turned 24 and was described as a "rock star" by anchor Kimberly McBroom
The reporter was in an relationship with WDBJ7 anchor Chris Hurst but the pair had kept it quiet as they worked together
Alison had recently moved in with Chris after "the best nine months of their lives"
Chris revealed their relationship on social media and said they wanted to get married
He said Alison was the "most radiant woman he had ever met" and said he feels "numb" at what has happened
Cameraman Adam Ward, 27
Adam graduated from Salem High School and Virginia Tech
He is believed to have worked for WDBJ7 since 2011
He was engaged to WDBJ7 news producer Melissa Ott after proposing in April
It is thought Melissa was working on the show that morning and watched what happened from the control room
It was Melissa's last show there as she was planning to move to a new job in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Adam was going to follow her there
Just hours before the shooting WDBJ7 anchor Kimberly McBroom tweeted this picture of Melissa wishing her good luck for her new job
McBroom said the TV station had planned to hold a meeting later today to discuss the "happy announcements" of staff moving on but that will now be a memorial
WDBJ released photographs of Ms Parker and Mr Ward after their deaths were confirmed. The station said "Alison and Adam always had a fun time together."
