Rush for tickets crashes Banksy's Dismaland website
The website for graffiti artist Banksy's Dismaland theme park crashed again today as fans rushed to book tickets online.
The £3 tickets for the exhibition, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, were supposed to be available online from 12pm today.
The website was "unavailable" from midday for a few hours, leading many fans to question whether it was part of the "dismal" experience.
Banksy described the park as "a festival of art, amusements and entry-level anarchism", adding: "This is an art show for the 99% who'd rather be at Alton Towers."
A spokeswoman for Dismaland, which has been set up at a derelict seaside lido, insisted the website would be available later.
A few hours later, the website was back up and running.
Fans trying to buy tickets vented their frustration about the crash on social media.
Dismaland has space for 4,000 visitors - with 2,000 during the day and 2,000 for the evening session.
On Friday, 1,000 North Somerset residents were treated to a special opening of the site.
Doors to the general public opened on Saturday and the website crashed as people scrambled to buy tickets.
Thousands queued up at the site from the early hours of the morning to buy a ticket from a booth at the seafront on both Saturday and Sunday.
