Prunella Scales cannot remember her 53-year marriage due to Alzheimer's
Prunella Scales, the star of Fawlty Towers, cannot remember her 53-year-marriage to husband Timothy West because of her advanced Alzheimer's.
West, 80, revealed the extent of his wife's decline in an interview with Piers Morgan's Life Stories.
Morgan said he said see the "sadness etched on" West's face when he opened up.
Scales, who played John Cleese's long-suffering wife in the hit British comedy, had initially forgotten simple things like how to make a cup of tea, West said.
But as the disease progressed, he said she had started forgetting her children's birthdays and memories of her marriage.
Morgan said he said see the "sadness etched on" West's face when he opened up.
Morgan said that after the filming he asked her if she had enjoyed the show and she had no memory of it.
