Ex-Harrow pupil dies after 'attack' outside Greek nightclub
Tributes have been paid to a British teenager who died after an alleged attack outside a nightclub in Malia, Crete while on holiday celebrating the end of his A-levels.
Harrow schoolboy Archie Lloyd, 18, fell and hit his head on the pavement in the row and was later found dead at his hotel by friends.
He is understood to have got a taxi back to his hotel after refusing medical help from paramedics outside the club.
British bar worker Sebastian Trabucatti has been charged with gross negligence leading to manslaughter.
A private funeral will be held for Mr Lloyd at Winchester Cathedral on Thursday, according to the Evening Standard, which published a death notice from the family.
The newspaper said a post-mortem examination showed Mr Lloyd suffered severe head injuries including bleeding on the brain.
Friends have paid tribute to Mr Lloyd on social media.
Another friend said: “I can’t believe this has happened he was a beautiful person inside and out so loyal and honest. Always put a smile on my face and made me laugh.”
A spokeswoman from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) told ITV News: "We can confirm the death of a British national in Crete on 6 August. We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time."
Bar worker Trabucatti, a 23-year-old from East Grinstead, West Sussex, has been released on bail and ordered to remain on the island.
