Alan Partridge's 'Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank' idea becomes a reality in comedy trailer
A TV show many Alan Partridge fans have dreamed would one day become a reality has been brought to life in a spoof 'Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank' trailer.
The former middleweight and super-middleweight champion boxer got in on the joke, having previously been mystified by his link to the fictional show.
The idea spawned from a scene in Alan Partridge around 20 years ago, when Steve Coogan's character pitched the show to the BBC.
Despite it having a huge following among fans, the joke was lost on Eubank, who recently asked one Twitter user to "please explain the link between me and youth hostels".
In the spoof clip, Eubank is seen arriving at a hostel and being shown around, declaring it "splendid" and "extraordinary".
The 49 year old is also filmed cleaning a picture frame with a feather duster, trying out one of the bunk beds and logging onto the free WiFi.
Eubank later tweeted that his inaugural visit to a youth hostel had been "enlightening and delightful".
The clip sent fans wild and the former boxer was flooded with appreciative messages.
