Tom Jones' fans demand money back after power cut ends gig early
Angry Tom Jones fans have demanded their money back after a power cut ended his show early.
Concert-goers had paid up to £95 a ticket to see the Sex Bomb singer perform at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland on Saturday night.
But they complained they had to make their way out of the venue in darkness after a generator failed for a second time.
The organisers later apologised for the hiccup but stopped short of offering a refund saying fans "with enquiries" should contact the firm.
Neil Winterbottom, director of promoters Loose Cannon, said: "Unfortunately, during Sir Tom Jones's performance at Alnwick Castle, there was an issue with the generator power supply which meant that the concert finished abruptly.
"I wish to make it clear that this situation is not associated with the artist, his management team or Alnwick Castle.
"Loose Cannon Events employed an established company to supply the power generators who are well-versed in supplying power to large events of this scale and we are investigating the incident.
"We are sorry to disappoint concert-goers. All enquiries should be directed to alnwickenquiries@loosecannonevents.com"
Fan Jiffy Fowler tweeted afterwards: "Full refund please we paid to see Tom Jones not The Shadows!!!"
While Jane Hedley tweeted Sir Tom, saying: "What a shame that someone didn't do their job properly. You were fabulous though - gutted for you."
