Jodie Alexis, one of the thousands of people who receives support from Kids Company, has told GMB how she and her family will be badly affected by the charity's closure.

Kids Company's closure last night after 19 years will leave 6,000 vulnerable children at risk, The Guardian reports.

Its founder, Camila Batmanghelidjh, said a donor withdrew a pledge of £3 million from the charity after learning that police were investigating the charity over allegations of abuse.

She blames "rumour-mongering civil servants" and "ill-suited ministers" for the charity's demise.

Alexis has been using the charity since she was 15 and says it helped get her disabled daughter a place at school when no one else would help.

"We don't know what our future holds now - we just hope that Kids Company name is cleared and that we can get the company up again," Alexis told GMB.

"We do need that company because I know that the Government won't be able to build a company like Camila's done," she added.

"They're not going to be able to put the effort and unconditional love into that company like Camila's done."
