A convicted brothel madam has denied reports that she threatened to expose Sir Edward Heath as being involved in child abuse and said she had no involvement with the former prime minister.

The Daily Telegraph reported prosecutors dropped their case against Myra Forde when she threatened to expose Heath in the 1990s.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission are investigating claims Wiltshire Police covered up allegations of child sex abuse made against the former Prime Minister in the 1990s.

Speaking through her solicitor who represented her in 1992, Ms Forde has today denied claims that she threatened to expose Heath.

Richard Griffiths and Co, based in Salisbury, confirmed to ITV News that they had given a statement to the Salisbury Journal on behalf of Ms Forde.
