Alton Towers victim celebrates 18th birthday at home
Alton Towers crash victim Leah Washington, who lost a leg as a result of the horrific incident, celebrated her 18th birthday last night.
The teen was joined by boyfriend Joe Pugh, who was also seriously injured in the Smiler ride crash.
Leah posted a photo of her and Joe smiling happily and later said on Twitter that she had "such a good birthday".
The couple were on a date when they were trapped for hours on the ride at the Staffordshire theme park after two carriages collided in June.
Leah, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, was inundated with messages from friends and supporters as she celebrated the milestone on Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, Leah posted another picture with two friends in a lift with the message: "Love my friends."
On Saturday she tweeted it was "so good to be home" after being discharged from hospital in time for her birthday.
Leah and Joe were among five people seriously injured in the Smiler crash, which caused Alton Towers to close for six days.
