Game of Thrones leads Emmy nominations
Games of Thrones leads this year's Emmy awards with 24 nominations.
Downton Abbey received eight nominations, and will go up against Game of Thrones in the outstanding drama series category. Also nominated in the category are Mad Men, Better Call Saul, House of Cards, Homeland and Orange is the New Black.
Jon Hamm received his eighth nomination for outstanding actor in a drama series, for his role in Mad Men, this year will be his last chance to win for his role as Don Draper.
In the category for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, Claire Danes, is nominated for her role in Homeland, Elisabeth Moss for hers in “Mad Men” and Robin Wright who played the first lady in Netflix’s “House of Cards.”
The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on 20 September.
