Brave Alton Towers victim posts touching image after losing leg

A brave 17-year-old who had her leg amputated after a rollercoaster crash at Alton Towers has shared the first picture of herself since the operation to remove her limb.

Leah Washington, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, was trapped for hours on The Smiler ride at the Staffordshire theme park after two carriages collided earlier this month leaving her with "life-changing injuries".

The teenager shared the picture of herself surrounded by friends and family, was one of two crash victims to lose a limb in the rollercoaster crash.

Dancer Vicky Balch, 20, from Lancashire, also lost a leg in the accident.
