Heathrow Airport expansion: The plan in numbers

Following the recommendation by the Airport Commission for a new runway at Heathrow, here are some key statistics about the proposal:

In addition, the report recommended that residents should be compensated at full market value by 25% and reasonable costs. Other houses could also end up being demolished.

An additional 59,000-77,000 jobs are forecast to be generated in the local area by 2030. This compares with 4,000-6,500 jobs by a second runway at Gatwick.
