Taylor Swift attacks Apple for giving away free music
Pop star Taylor Swift has written an open letter to Apple, arguing that the company's decision to give three months of music away for free on its new streaming service is "shocking" and "disappointing".
Writing on her Tumblr page, Swift said she would not be making her award-winning latest album 1989 available on Apple Music when it launches at the end of June.
The service will offer a catalogue of music for a monthly subscription, with an initial free period.
However, Swift claimed that artists, producers or writers would not be paid during that three month period, something she said was "completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company".
Swift hit headlines for pulling the album, along with the rest of her back catalogue, from Spotify last year.
