Rock band Foo Fighters have cancelled a string of huge shows including Wembley Stadium and Glastonbury after singer Dave Grohl broke his leg falling from the stage at a recent show.

The band were set to play two dates at Wembley, followed by one at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and a Friday headline slot at Glastonbury.

Grohl got the injury after falling from the stage at a stadium show in Gothenburg, Sweden, but finished the set despite having to sit in a chair and have a cast applied.

In a post on the band's website, Grohl apologised for the cancellations, saying his doctors had "advised me to lay low for a while".
