Sideshow Bob 'to finally kill Bart Simpson'
Kelsey Grammer is set to return to the Simpsons as his character gets to fulfil his long-held ambition - killing Bart Simpson.
Executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly that he always wanted to see the Coyote get the Road Runner in the classic Looney Tunes cartoons, so did not want to leave Simpsons viewers with the same frustration.
“I hated frustration comedy so we’ll scratch that itch,” he said referring to Sideshow Bob and his long running ambition to kill Bart.
Grammer's character has been trying to get his revenge on Bart since he foiled his attempt to frame other long running character Krusty the Clown in the first ever season back in 1990.
However Bart will not be gone for long as the short is expected to appear as a part of the show's traditional Halloween programme, meaning he will be back in the next segment.
