Dog trainer Jules O'Dwyer has told Good Morning Britain she was "completely, genuine gobsmacked" at winning Britain's Got Talent with her performing dog Matisse.

They beat 12 other finalists to take home £250,000 and earn a spot at this year's Royal Variety Performance.

Asked if she would be getting a corgi ahead of the event, Jules told GMB: "It's tempting."

Jules and Matisse were joined on stage last night by rescue dog Skippy.

"He was in a shelter. Nobody wanted to take on a dog with such a severe handicap of losing a front leg. People want a normal dog, they're afraid of vet bills," Jules told GMB.

She said the win would mean financial security for her and her family.

"I'm already doing a job I love. I'm spending all day with my gorgeous dogs so it can't get any better but just to have that financial security will be perfect," she said.
