Jessica Ennis-Hill will defend her Olympic heptathlon title in Rio next year after achieving the qualifying standard.

Ennis-Hill, who won the gold in 2012, could only finish fourth at the Hypo-Meeting in Gotzis, Austria but she registered 6,520 points, 320 more than the tally she needed for Rio.

It was the 29-year-old Briton's first heptathlon since winning gold in London, and her performance also secures qualification for this year's World Championships.
