U2 tour manager Dennis Sheehan found dead in LA hotel
U2's longtime tour manager Dennis Sheehan has been found dead in a hotel in Los Angeles just after a concert held at The Forum by the band.
Sheehan, who was in his late 60s, died from a suspected heart attack while staying at the Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood.
Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Chris Reade said first responders were called at around 5.30am local time to reports of a man in cardiac arrest. Sheehan was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement on their official website the Irish band confirmed the news and Bono described him as "irreplaceable".
Arthur Fogel, CEO Global Touring, Chairman Global Music Live Nation Global Touring, added: "With profound sadness we confirm that Dennis Sheehan, U2's longstanding tour manager and dear friend to us all, has passed away overnight. Our heartfelt sympathy is with his wonderful family."
Sheehan had been involved in the music business for over 40 years and also worked with other top artists including Led Zeppelin and Iggy Pop.
In 2008, he was awarded the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award which are dubbed the 'Oscars of the Live Event Industry.'
